Beattie hosts Denver Celebration January 19

Denver: I hope you get a chance to watch my interview with Creekside Pastor, Josh Weidmann this Tuesday at 11 AM. I was invited to host the program which was indeed a pleasure  and my guest had a lot to say on relief for Haiti, ministry channels, and his Honest to God radio program.  This will be  a great test for the revamped Envoytown.com and it marks a landmark in our call to the Denver Metro area from our website and in supporting church plants. There will be announcements of groundbreaking ministry and service from our team, on the ground and we are happy that Josh Weidmann figures in the big picture.

MLK Birthday

Today on Martin Luther King’s birthday I was happy to be hosting the show and being in Denver. In the mid eighties my family and I were part of the first MLK Celebration where we walked with less than 100 people up East Colfax through City park to the statue of Dr. King. When I hear reports that this is the largest celebration in the country we have to tip our hats to Wilma Webb for her fortitude and making this tribute  and Denver shine. Back at the first march my family and I were among a few non-African Americans who attended, marched and sang along the parade route. People thanked us for coming. Only a year or two later  a horrid clash between KKK and marchers threatened the spirit of the tribute and we prayed that MLK and the dream would overcome that ugly scene. Thanks to Wilma Webb for her fortitude!

Evangelism is a celebration of the Gospel message in the public square, and to stand up against the yoke of slavery.

Denver Celebration

I hope you will tune in tomorrow as we include a reference to Human Trafficking and how it affects all of us even in Denver. I pray that you too will be judged by “the content of your character and not the color of your skin.” That you will stand for freedom in  our town and will reach out to those  who are in need.
